Where I've been hiding.

I do, in fact, have internet access. No, I haven't been trapped in a remote area. I have not suddenly produced offspring or gotten three jobs to juggle. I just realized that I haven't updated my daily mile in a very long time...or my blog. This twinge of guilt I feel is amplified by not having a good excuse for it.

Here's what's been happening offline:

I had to make a really tough decision this week, between sticking to a commitment I made months ago and starting a new one. A friend and I have been working on a fundraiser for almost 6 months - it's an awesome dinner party for an even awesomer cause. It's this Friday evening. The exact same time, unfortunately, as a course I decided to take in another city. I really hate breaking my promises, and even more, I hate disappointing people. However, this course (along with it's amazing job guarantee) are step one towards a job and simultaneously step one towards a major life change. Ultimately something I have to do. The journey to this new life starts in 45 30 minutes. Wish me luck.

I've had a couple of days off working out. My knee has been fine but my hip is acting up. Do you remember growing pains? That's what it feels like almost constantly, deep inside my joint, although it gets worse at night. It's something I want to talk about with my physiotherapist and sports doc next week. Thank goodness it's the lower intensity week for p90x too. I'm thinking I may do a couple of shorter runs, perhaps to and from some hot yoga. Also, I have learned that I really dislike oatmeal. Trying to make it for the BFF is good, but reheating it and mixing a big scoop of pb into it is my idea of mouth vom. Bad news. I had to lie down and read most of the day after that delicious experience.

I've had some awesome chats with friends and family, and had some really good times playing games and chilling with the BFF.

I've been deeply immersed in a book my older sister lent me called The Passage. It's fascinating.

This week has been pretty busy, especially considering the pace of my life lately. I was pretty sure about this course, but talking to the instructor really sold it for me. I officially signed up less than 48 hours before it began, so the time since then has been spent attempting to organize getting to the course and my stay in the big city.

I've been chilling in this Starbucks for over three hours. My first 45 minutes here were spent waiting to get a table and bust out my laptop, so that doesn't count, right? I've had my mini latte and egg sandwich and enjoyed some people watching. Later tonight, I get to spend time with an awesome Em, which I'm very excited about.

I have great intentions right now about being better with my daily mile(s) and keeping you in the loop. But now I'm off to get more education. I used to joke about being a career student...I'm starting to realize that I really am.

This is really old. But since it's my best face and I
don't want the people in Starbucks to think I'm creepy
over here, voguing for the camera, this is what you get.
